Artist's Comments

The third OC character poster for :iconlily-pily: and :iconvictorsgurl288:'s 9 comic "Genesis," this time for 15.

To Remind Us...

This was a tough one to come up with, just because 15 doesn't interact much with the other characters (aside from 8 of course ;)). I finally decided that the best duty for her is to act as a peacekeeper/conscience for the other stitchpunks, reminding them that it's important to get along and be loyal to each other. Since 1 and 8 are the ones who seem to forget this the most, she focuses mainly on them.

Also, 15 spent a lot of time wandering around in the Emptiness before she joined the others, so she knows the most about the human world and likes talking about her discoveries. I'm planning to draw a scene where she recalls finding the record player and actually sings part of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow." She wants the rest of the group to remember how good life was before the machines took over.

I'm not as crazy about how the glowing numbers turned out this time, but I think it gets the point across.

Ooohhh, I really like the layout of the background and 15's pose, it's very suiting to her character. :D Great work, as always!

I never saw 15 that way, personally. To see how someone else interepretes the character is really intreguing. I really like it; it makes perfect sense to me. :) LOVE the backround and the glowy numbers. :D It just looks so fanflippingtabulous! :D Love all the thought and detail you put into this piece; I really appreciate it. :)

Thanks! These posters were a lot of fun to make. It's an interesting challenge to try and sum up a character in one little tag line.

I'm really curious now, how would you describe 15's character? I was just judging from what I saw in the comic, and I tried to expand on that to give her a purpose that applied to the whole group.

Hahaha. You're the second person to ask me that in the past few hours. :giggle: I see 15 as a character that is bright and bubbly, yet when when things need to get serious, she will be. She always looks on the bright side of things, or tries to anyways and tries to comfort those in any way she can. She pays more attention to 8 than the others, and 1 somewhat as well, due to the fact that they're the ones that are more to themselves and the others are more or less afraid of trying to connect with them, because they're always threatened/pushed away. (Just like you depicted.) Her hobbies are collecting shiny objects, fencing, and hanging out with 8 whenever she can. :) (Wow; almost felt like I was in a dating program or something. XD Hahaha) I kinda feel like I've regurgitated some of what you've said but it's only because you've got a lot of the character down. ^^; Hope that helped somehow.

Definitely, it's all good stuff to know.

I had a whole list of things to say for 15 like "To Unite Us," "To Redeem Us," and "To Correct Us," but none of them quite felt right, especially the last one, which sounds more negative. I narrowed it down to either "To Remind Us" or "To Understand Us," and I thought the second one sounded more like something 15 would do for herself than for the others.

I know, I thought way too deeply into this. ^^;. I just wanted to make these posters look as official as possible!

Wow. o_O Yeah; I see what you mean. :nod: All of them seem to fit but you've chosen well I believe.

Nothing's wrong with thinking too deeply about things like this. It's a good thing I think; helps make the poster in this case as accurate and as official looking (as you've said) as possible and I greatly admire that. :aww:
